Heavy Duty Log Maker
The Heavy Duty Log Maker recycles all types of waste paper into logs, which can then be used to fuel an open fire or woodburning stove. You can use old newspapers, wrapping paper, wood chippings, office paper and cardboard, thus reducing the amount of rubbish going to the tip.
Here's how to do it:
- Tear up your waste paper, newspaper and cardboard and put it in
a bucket of water to soak.

- Give the paper mix a good stir and leave for at least a couple of hours, over night is ideal. It is fine to leave the mix for several days which helps to break down heavy cardboard in particular. You should not leave this mix for over 10 days as this can lead to bacterial problems. Adding a tablespoon of bleach speeds up the soaking process.
- Fill up the Heavy Duty Log Maker with the soaked paper and press down the handles to squeeze out as much of the water as you can.
- Remove your newly made paper log from the Log Maker and place in a sheltered, but airy place
to
d
ry.
- Using the Heavy Duty Log Maker during the summer months is best, when the weather is warmer and the drying process is quicker. If you have a green house the drying process will take about a week.
- Once dry, stack up your paper logs in a dry, convenient place ready to use
when required.

- Using the Heavy Duty Log Maker is a great family activity, get everyone involved!
